Police: Come claim your goods
Police are calling on victims of robberies from Garsfontein and Moot to come and identify goods which may belong to them, police said. A range of electronic items and jewellery, among others, was found.
Police are calling on victims of house robberies, burglaries and theft from the Garsfontein and Moot areas to come claim their stolen goods.
The request followed the arrest of two suspects in Mamelodi for being in possession of stolen goods and possession of two unlicensed firearms, said police spokesperson, Captain Mahlahlane Maheso.
“We arrested a woman who was driving a white Ford Figo. Inside the vehicle we found several pairs of gloves and balaclavas,” said Maheso.
Police were then led to a house in Mamelodi West, Section K where her accomplice lived. “She led us to her boyfriend’s house and there we found two unlicensed pistols, jewellery estimated to be worth R3 000 and dagga.”
“We are calling on victims of robberies in the areas of Garsfontein and Moot to come to the Mamelodi police station to identify and claim these goods,” said Maheso. The suspects are out on bail and will appear in court on 20 December.
Victims of robberies are advised to bring along some sort of proof to claim their items. “They will need to bring proof such as a case number or police documents that corroborate that the goods belong to them,” said Maheso.
Items found include jewellery and a jewellery box, cycling shoes, spanners, a digital clamp meter, electric cables, remote control for a TV or DVD, car keys, an external hard drive, sunglasses, a DSTV Drifter, a two-way radio with a charger and batteries, a digital DVS system, a Logitec sub-woofer, an IBM laptop bag, a .38 Special pistol with four live rounds, a 9mm Star pistol with a magazine and two live rounds, one gold coin, a gold watch, a pair of handcuffs, 13 watches, framed photos and a few other items.
