Body found in Erasmuskloof still unidentified

The Brooklyn police are looking for the family of a man that was found dead in Erasmuskloof in July.

The Brooklyn police were on Wednesday still looking for the family of a man that was found dead in the bushes in Erasmuskloof about four months ago. The body of an unknown elderly man, known only as Robert, was found on the corner of Keiskamma and Jochemus streets in July.

According to the police spokesperson, Captain Colette Weilbach, the man lived in the bushes. His body was found in a sleeping position under plastic sheeting. He apparently died of natural causes.

The police visited a possible address in Mamelodi without any successful outcome and it is alleged that he is from Polokwane in Limpopo.

“The Brooklyn police have exhausted all local avenues in locating the family of the man,” Weilbach said.

The police are urging anyone who has information that may help find the man’s family to contact the investigating officer, Constable Tinyiko Luvhimbi, on 012-366-1757/42.
