Alleged Danville robber in court

A man appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Monday after being arrested for allegedly breaking in and stealing electronic goods from a home in Danville.

A 38-year-old man appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of possession of suspected stolen goods after he allegedly broke into a house on Thursday.

Police spokeswoman Captain Agnes Huma said the man allegedly broke into a house in Danville where a plasma TV and Ipad were stolen.

“The Ipad had tracker and it was followed. The suspect was arrested in the Laudium area,” Huma explained.

The Pretoria West police are investigating the case. House break-ins in the west are rife and police urge all residents to be careful and take extra precautions over the festive season, as it is a time when homes are more vulnerable with owners being away.
