Three suspects have appeared in court on charges of attempted murder after they allegedly stabbed and kicked a petrol station owner.
The badly injured man has been released from hospital and is recovering at home. The owner of a petrol station next to the R55 in Heuweloord was repeatedly stabbed with a knife and brutally kicked, allegedly by three men.
According to Captain Agnus Huma, police spokesperson, the three suspects are in police custody on charges of attempted murder.
One suspect was arrested on 18 November while the other two were caught the day after.
The reason for the attack is unknown, but it is believed that one of the suspects had an aggressive attitude towards the manager.
The man was found on the floor with stab wounds in his back.
The suspects allegedly casually went into the petrol station’s store when the attacked happened.
The only witnesses were a few attendants from the store.
The alleged weapon had been found at the horrifying scene lying on the floor.
The suspects appeared in court on 26 and 27 November and their final bail application is due on 5 December, Huma confirmed.
