Strike delays municipal invoices

The Tshwane has advised its customers that municipal invoices may be late this month due to the ongoing Post Office strike.

The Tshwane metro would like to advise its customers that there is a citywide delay in the posting of municipal accounts due to the ongoing Post Office strike.

As a result, customers will receive their January 2014 statements late and in some cases, after their usual due date. Municipal account holders are reminded that residents are still responsible for paying their accounts even if no statement has been received.

Customers are encouraged to continue paying their municipal accounts in accordance with their normal monthly consumption. Alternatively, residents can receive duplicate invoices at all metro walk-in customer care centres.

Invoices will only be emailed to residents if the metro has their email addresses on the system and SMSs will only be sent if customers have already given their cell phone numbers to the metro.

The City of Tshwane apologises to all customers who have been adversely affected by these delays.
