Power cut in Montana and surrounding areas on Sunday
Residents of the North can expect another power outage on Sunday evening between 22:00 and midnight.

Tshwane Metro council announced on Friday that brief power cuts would occur in Montana and surrounding areas on Sunday evening for two hours as from 22:00.
This is due to emergency repair work that has to be done at the Pumulani Substation in Kameeldrift by the electricity and energy division.
Rekord reported earlier in the month that the Pumulani Substation was severely damaged by a fire on 19 February and caused a five day power outage in most parts of the suburbs in the north of Pretoria.
The following areas would be affected on Sunday:
• Zeekoegat
• Montana
• Doornpoort
• Farmlines
The municipality advised its consumers to treat all electrical points as “live” and to switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.
The public took their stand against Tshwane Metro on their official City of Tshwane Facebook page by raising their distrust in the municipality and their annoyance with constant power failures. Marietjie van der Merwe is of opinion that the repair works were taking longer than necessary and she hoped that it would not last longer than four days again.
Mara van Rooyen said she would be furious if the power outage started before 22:00.
Johan Erlank said this is unacceptable as he now had to wait until the repair work is done before he could go to bed as he sleeps with an oxygen machine.
Power failures may be reported all hours on 012-358-9999, by choosing option 3 or via SMS by sending the account number or meter number to 082-612-0333.
