Mothers who give birth on Christmas in the capital city can look forward to more than having a new little one in their lives, but also to a visit from Tshwane executive mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa, who will present them with gifts.
To advocate the ideal of an equitable city that supported happiness, social cohesion, safety and healthy citizens, Ramokgopa, accompanied by Member of the Mayoral Committee for Health and Social Development, Eulenda Mabusela, intended to spend his Christmas bringing joy to new mothers, mayoral spokesman Lebogang Matji said on Tuesday.
Ramokgopa and his entourage will visit George Mukhari, Steve Biko and Kalafong Hospitals as well as Dark City and Kgabo Clinics on 25 December to welcome the arrival of the new born babies and present baby gift hampers to the new mothers.
“The City of Tshwane has been running the “Chrismas with our people” programme over the past few days,” Matji said.
She added that the programme had been largely focused on putting a smile on the faces of residents of Tshwane through the distribution of food hampers, clothing and toys to targeted groups who did not have the opportunity to share in the spirit of the festive season with their loved ones.
Ramokgopa and entourage will visit George Mukhari, Steve Biko, Kalafong Hospitals as well as Dark City and Kgabo Clinics to welcome the arrival of the new born babies and present baby gift hampers to the new mothers.
The mayor plans to visit George Mukhari in Ga-Rankuwa in the early morning, before moving on to the Kgabo Clinic in Winterveld, Kalafong Hospital in Atteridgeville, Steve Biko in Gezina and finish at the Dark City Clinic in Ekangla in the late afternoon.
