A young man armed with a shotgun and wearing a balaclava has single-handedly robbed the Shell Clubview filling station on Old Johannesburg Road.
The robber, believed to be in his late twenties, is seen on closed circuit television cameras entering the convenience store around 20:40 last Friday.
Johan Fourie, assistant manager at the filling station, said the man ordered the cashier to stop what he was doing and to move aside. He casually opened the till and took about R2 000.
Fourie said it took the man about thirty seconds to enter the store, empty the till and flee the scene in a blue vehicle, believed to have been a Ford Fiesta.
Fourie said he was thankful no one was injured.
The video that posted on eblockwatch went viral on Thursday afternoon.
A robbery docket had been opened at the Wierdabrug police station.
