Eskom said stage 2 load-shedding will continue on Sunday until 22:00, making it the seventh consecutive day of black-outs being rolled out across the country.
This after the power utility implemented the power shedding at 08:00 on the sixth day of load-shedding this week.
“The electricity supply system remains very constrained and vulnerable due to a shortage of generation capacity as several units are currently out of service due to planned and unplanned outages,” said Eskom in a statement.
Residents are urged to use power sparingly to reduce the load on the electricity grid.
The power utility advises on switching off geysers, air-conditioners, pool pumps and all non-essential appliances throughout the day.
