Mayor recognised as public service leader
Tshwane Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa was recently recognised as a top empowered public service leader.
Tshwane Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa was recognised as a top empowered public service leader at this year’s Oliver Empowerment Awards.
The annual event was hosted last Thursday at Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni.
Lauding the award, Ramokgopa said on his Facebook page: “This award is for the collective effort of our executive and city management, who are continuously working hard to make Tshwane a better capital city to live in.”
Ramokgopa was up against the SA Civil Aviation Authority’s Mmanare Mamabolo and the South African Maritime Safety Authority’s Commander Tsietsi Mokhele, among others.
Other winners included President Jacob Zuma’s alleged Nkandla homestead benefactor, Vivian Reddy, Herman Mashaba, the founder of Black Like Me, and Lynette Nontobeko Magasa for top young achiever of the year.
