Possible power outage in various areas

The Tshwane metro council said power supply could be interrupted in Hermanstad and Daspoort on Friday.

Residents of Hermanstad and Daspoort should take note of a possible power outage in the area on Friday, the Tshwane metro said.

Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the power supply interruption is due to emergency repairs carried out on two main feeder cables that supply the Herculite substation.

“In the event there is an outage, power will be restored by this [Friday] afternoon,” he said.

Lindela said affected customers are urged to report power failures by SMSing the word POWER followed by your account number to 44767.

“Or report a power failure to 012-358-9999 or 0801-111-556, choosing the electricity option.”

Residents are advised to treat all electricity points as live and to switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.
