Thieves in Volvo loot two houses in one morning
Two houses were burgled before noon on Friday in Eldoraigne.
Robbers driving a fairly new model Volvo sedan were caught on camera, breaking into a house in Penguin Crescent in Eldoraigne on Friday.
Tania Neethling, whose house was burgled by these robbers said, the robbers took time before entering the house. “On the CCTV footage we have, you can see them driving past the house several times, before stopping at around 10:45. They rang the bell a few times to see if someone was home, before they finally broke in.”
Neethling said the house alarm went off and made the thieves nervous. “They were not in the house long. They only stole a TV and tried to get into a safe in the house, but failed. They then made off with the TV. Thereafter they broke into another house close by in Springbok Street. This house did not have an alarm, so the thieves were able to steal a lot more before getting away.”
The case was reported to the Wierdabrug police, who are investigating the crime. Anyone with information regarding the incident is advised to phone them on 012-654-4031.
