NATIONAL NEWS: Tribute for couple killed in ‘explosion’

An emotional tribute was held for a young couple that died in a tragic accident over the weekend.

Impala Park Community Police Forum (CPF) patroller Jacques Day (24) and his 21-year-old partner, Jacqueline Roos died in a horrible car accident on 7 June 2015 when the car they were travelling in hit a lamp pole, rolled and exploded.

By the time paramedics arrived, the car was completely engulfed with flames. There was nothing they could do to save the couple.

Loved ones, colleagues and friends paid tribute by laying flowers at the lamppost where the car collided and at the area where the vehicle burnt out – which was about 20m apart.
