A man from Thailand and two Chinese women were arrested on Wednesday for running a brothel in Pretoria.

Brooklyn police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said the Hawks, acting on information from a whistle blower, stormed the house in Brooklyn and rescued six Thai ladies aged between 23 and 38.

“The man suspected to be the owner of the brothel and the Chinese ladies were apparently responsible for the recruitment of the women,” she said.

Police seized tablets suspected to be drugs, receipt books and suspected fake passports which have been sent to home affairs for verification. The six ladies have been put in a place of safety pending investigations.”

Weilbach said those arrested were aged between 45 and 49 and would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
