Philip Moolman performs at the Laughing Chefs
Afrikaans singer, Philip Moolman performs at the Laughing Chefs in Rietondale.
Philip Moolman‘s Neil Diamond tribute was performed at Laughing Chefs restaurant, Rietondale on Friday night.
The tribute, featuring Marius Marais on keys, also had Moolman performing some of his Afrikaans songs.
Moolman is an artist, performer and actor who rose to prominence for his role in Egoli and his role in eTV’s popular soapie, Rhythm City as Andre Voster.
During the first part of the show Moolman performed songs, telling his life’s journey.
The repertoire included Hoop, Ek huil oor jou, Lewe dan in liefde and Hier en nou.
“The second part of the show is all about a tribute to Neil Diamond. It was a popular request that I should do a tribute to Niel Diamond because everyone thinks I sing pretty much like him,” said Moolman.
“We do it all, and always with a smile! Small gestures can have a big impact. If you walk down the street and smile at someone, that will get passed on to the next person. That has the power to change someone’s day,” said Laughing Chefs co-owner Esrida Brits.
