A mother of two was raped in a house robbery in Soshanguve Block FF in the early hours of Sunday morning, police said.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the 22-year-old woman told police she was asleep with her two children when she felt someone removing blankets from her bed.

“She immediately got up and saw a man standing next to her bed.”

Mangena said one of the children tried to scream but the man threatened him with a screwdriver.

Mangena could not confirm the children’s age.

“The man switched off the lights and covered the children with blankets.

He took off the woman’s pyjamas and started raping her while another man who also entered the house ransacked the house,” he said.

Mangena said the men left the house with a television set, microwave and three cellphones.

A case of rape and house robbery was opened at the Soshanguve police station.
