Two men in Hercules were arrested for possession of dagga, an unlicensed rifle and ammunition.

Spokesperson Sergeant Christo von Mollendorff said police reacted to a tip-off from the community about dagga crop in the men’s yard.

“When we got there we discovered a crop worth between R10 000 and R20 000 in the garden,” he said.

Von Mollendorff said police from sectors 2, 3 and 4 as well as the crime prevention officer in the area, were at the scene.

Police found over six kinds of weapons and an unlicensed rifle,” he said.

The men will remain in the Hercules police holding cells until their court appearance in the Pretoria Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
