Murdered woman finally identified
The body of the woman found dead at Hennops Pride caravan park last month has been identified by police.
A dead woman whose compiled picture had been circulating in the media has been identified by her family on Thursday, police said.
Elchenette Rademeyer (26) was found dead at the Hennops Pride Caravan Park next to the R55 in Erasmia on 13 September.
She was found with marks on her neck.
A witness had alleged that two white men and a white woman had dumped Rademeyer’s body in the Hennops river on 12 September.
The police victim identification centre (VIC) compiled frontal and profile images of the deceased this week to provide the public with an indication of her appearance.
“A community member recognised the deceased on the images and alerted the family. The body was identified by the Pretoria family,” said Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.
Moloto said the family was not aware of her disappearance as they did not live with Rademeyer.
“The police is appealing to the public to come forward with any information that can assist with the murder investigation. Any information can be provided to investigating officer Constable Moima at 083-317-7150, the Erasmia police on 012-370-1777 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” Moloto said.
