Police make arrest in Salvokop operation
Police nab drug dealer in search operation on Friday morning.
Two men found in possession of drugs and stolen goods were arrested early Friday morning in Salvokop by police in a cordon and search operation.
Central police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the men were taken into custody by police in the early hours of Friday morning.
She said police arrested a 25-year-old Tanzanian man for dealing in drugs.
“Numerous plastic bags and matchboxes full of dagga were found at his premises.”
Selepe said large amounts of dagga were found stashed inside compressor bags and are estimated to be worth R12 000.
“Another man was arrested in possession of stolen CDs and DVDs estimated to be worth R8 000.”
The operation was jointly conducted by the South African Police Service, Tshwane Metro Police, Department of Defence and Correctional Services, said Selepe.
The men will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
