Man killed in Danville road rage
The man walked back to his vehicle and collapsed just as he was about to reach the car.
A man was shot dead in a road rage episode in Danville on Friday, which initially appeared to be hijacking gone wrong.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the victim was apparently arguing with another motorist when he was shot.
“After being hit in the chest, he walked back to his car but fell down before he could get in,” Moloto said.
The shooter fled in his own vehicle.
“A murder case is being investigated and police are searching for the suspect,” Moloto concluded.
Area patroller Hansie Oosthuizen confirmed the police’s version of what happened.
“From what I understand it was a road rage incident. The two were arguing when the one man shot the other.”
Oosthuizen said the man walked all the way back to his vehicle and collapsed just as he was about to reach the car.
Police urged anyone with information on the matter to call the nearest police station.
