Toddler survives double shooting
Police have opened a murder docket after a Soshanguve soldier shot dead his wife before committing suicide.

A one-year-old child escaped harm when two gunshots claimed the lives of her father and mother in a car on Friday.
Police said the toddler was unscathed after his soldier father shot dead his wife before committing suicide by turning the gun on himself.
“They were driving in a BMW with a one-year-old toddler who was fortunately not harmed,” said spokesperson Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi.
Police opened a murder docket after the shooting spree of the 43-year old soldier from Soshanguve in Maphuthuma Trust near Haakdoornboom early on Friday morning.
Both parents were declared dead when police arrived on the scene.
Pretoria North police were investigating.
