Three men were arrested following a service delivery protest in Atteridgeville on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the three stoned a police vehicle during a protest.

“The police were informed about a group of protesters who blocked Maunde Street with burning tyres at 06:30. One police vehicle was damaged by stones,” he said.

“No injuries were reported to the police. About 150 people marched to the municipality offices to hand over a memorandum,” he said.

Moloto said the trio, aged between 26 and 32, would appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of public violence and malicious damage to property.
