A 27-year-old woman was found dead near Swartkop Air Force Base in Centurion this week.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said on Thursday her body was found near a car together with her belongings on Monday.
“At 12:30, Air Force personnel in a chopper spotted a maroon vehicle parked at an isolated spot next to the Snake Valley shooting range,” he said.
“The body of a woman was lying on the ground next to the vehicle and they contacted the police. Police found that the woman sustained multiple stab wounds to her body and had severe head injuries.”
Moloto said investigations were underway and the outcome of a post-mortem was being awaited.
“Her personal belongings were left untouched in the Renault Sandero vehicle and it was established that she resided in Tembisa,” he said.
“The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage and no arrests have been made.”
Investigating officer Warrant Officer Van Rensburg at Wierdaburg police station could be reached on 082-081-1781.
