Robber injures genitals while jumping a fence to flee from dog
An alleged robber suffered injuries to his genitals trying to escape two dogs on Friday morning in The Reeds, Centurion.

A robber injured his genitals on a palisade fence while trying to flee from a raging Pit Bull Terrier and another dog on Friday morning in The Reeds, Centurion.
Quoting a security company, Rekord earlier reported about a dog nipping the finger of a robber, who is currently being treated in a local hospital under police guard. It has since transpired that it was the homeowner’s finger that was bitten when he attempted to restrain the dog from attacking the intruder.
According to the security firm spokesperson Vanessa Jacobs, the man (29) jumped over a palisade around 05:00 to get access to a house in The Reeds when he was surprised by the homeowner’s dogs.
“He tried to jump back over the fence but the dog got hold of his leg and vigorously attacked the man, causing extensive lacerations and a puncture wound to the man’s lower leg,” said Jacobs.
She said the homeowner managed to restrain and remove the dog, but the dog accidentally nipped the owner’s finger in the heat of the moment.
While the homeowner was busy with the one dog, the man then jumped over the fence but got caught in jagged edges of the fence and sustained further injuries to his private parts.
Jacobs said guards from local security companies Orangefox, Copwatch and Monitor.Net responded to the homeowner’s distress call. Ruan Heyns of OrangeFox treated the man’s wounds on the scene.
Jacobs said Wierdabrug police arrested the man and took him to hospital.
Wierdabrug spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said according to a police report the man was trying to flee with a laptop.
“The man dropped the laptop when he was trying to climb over the palisade fence, running away from the dogs,” Huma said
She said: “A case of burglary has been opened at Wierdabrug police station and the man is still under police guard at a local hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries sustained on Friday morning.”
