Three armed men hijacked a truck carrying six cars in Bronkhorstspruit late on Monday.
Police spokesperson captain Sarah Mcira said the driver stopped in Bronkhortspruit to buy food.
When he returned to the truck around 17:30, three armed men bundled him at gunpoint into the boot of a silver Spark Chevrolet.
He was later transferred to the boot of a white Toyota Corolla.
The men drove around with him, dumped him in Modderfontein and fled.
They apparently drove off with the truck’s trailer carrying the cars and left the truck behind.
The truck was transporting 2 1.4 Chevrolet Utility cars which were blue and bronze, 2 Chevrolet Sonics that were white and silver, a white Suzuki bakkie and a white Mahindra single cab.
Mcira said the criminals were on the run and police were searching for them.
