A man dodged a bullet when he was robbed at his home in Soshanguve over the weekend, police said on Monday.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said two men were on the run after they robbed a man of his red WV Polo in Block B extension on Saturday.
“The complainant said he was inside his house when he heard a car door banging. He went outside and found one man standing next to his car while the other was inside,” he said.
Mangena said the victim was ordered to hand over his car keys at gunpoint.
“As soon as he handed over the keys, the armed suspect fired a shot at him, but the victim ducked. Both suspects then got into the car and fled the scene with the victim’s Polo.”
Mangena said a case of hijacking and attempted murder was opened at the Soshanguve police station.
The registration number of the Polo is CF44RBGP.
