Foetus dumped at station

Foetus found dumped at Mabopane station

David Matsena

A foetus was found dumped in a waste bin near Mabopane station on Friday morning.

Rietgat police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the foetus was discovered by a businessman.

“The man went to dump stuff in the bin when he was overcome by foul smell coming from a black refuse bag,” said Mangena.

“He decided to check what was inside and made the shocking discovery. He then contacted the police.”

Mangena said it was not clear how long the foetus had been lying in the bin, and how old it had been.

He urged anyone with information to call the police urgently.
