Man shot dead in Doornpoort
A man was killed in Doornpoort last night in what appeared to have been a robbery.

A man was shot dead by robbers at a house in Doornpoort on Thursday night, the Sinoville CPF said.
Deputy chairperson Vernon Smit confirmed the shooting in Peerboom Street.
Pret-Med Ambulance Service spokesperson Michael Gough said the man was believed to have been the owner of the house.
“It is unclear whether it was a burglary or robbery,” Gough said.
Social media were abuzz with rumours and speculation about what had happened on the scene.
“Homes in this area are very close to the highway and criminals often target these places to make a quick getaway,” Smit said.
Police were to issue a statement later.
