Man still on the run after months

Police are still on the hunt for a man linked to murder, hijacking and armed robbery.

Police in Wonderboompoort were on Friday still searching for a man who committed numerous crimes in February.

Pretoria central spokesperson Sergeant Ann Poortman urged anyone with information on the matter to come forward.

The man committed a robbery at gunpoint in February.

“When the victim was pulling up in the driveway of his Park Town estates home, the man approached and robbed him off his cellphone, cash and car keys,” Poortman said.

As he was about to drive off, an eyewitness pressed a panic button and the man jumped out of the car and ran away.

“Two blocks away, he tried to hijack another vehicle where he shot and killed a second victim.”

The fugitive was said to be of medium weight, 1.65 metres tall and has two scratch marks on his right cheek.

He was wearing a green t-shirt under an overall jacket which had Johnson printed on it and tan pants.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call Detective-Sergeant Putter on 012-335-2811 or the Crimestop number 0800-10111 or to send an sms to 32211.
