Teen arrested after police shooting
Three men, including a teenager, were arrested after they shot at police in Ga-Rankuwa during a chase.
Ga-Rankuwa police have arrested two men and a teenager after they shot at police during a chase in Hebron, north of Pretoria.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said police recently responded to a complaint of a car moving around the Ga-Rankuwa City Shopping Centre.
The car, a silver Suzuki, was occupied by four men, he said.
“Our members signalled for the driver to stop but he sped away while one of the occupants started shooting.”
He said the men were cornered after they collided with a Toyota Venture.
Three of the occupants, aged between 16 and 25, were arrested and a fourth one fled.
The Suzuki was a stolen in Lyttelton around August, Nkoadi said.
“They will appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court soon.”
