UFO sighting could be hoax
The UFO image that circulated on social media could be a hoax.
The UFO image that was apparently captured on the N1 highway in Midrand this week, could be fake.
The image, posted on social media by Dineo Motake, had the country talking as it showed what looked like an unidentified flying object hovering in the clouds over the highway.
Graphic designer Jayson Juniane Jooste disputed the sighting on the Facebook page, SA Graphic Designers, stating it was photoshopped.
“We have got to admit, the Photoshop skills of whoever made the UFO appear in Midrand, are on point. Luckily nothing a well-updated stock photo library cannot pick up.”
Jooste then posted a picture of a similar UFO.
The SA National Space Agency’s (SANSA) spokesperson Vaneshree Maharaj said on Wednesday, they did not pick up any UFO sightings.
“We actually do not think it is true until we can verify the authenticity of the image. Our mandate is to track, monitor and support satellites or fallen space debris but we have not picked up anything regarding the sighting,” she told Rekord.
