Yet another attack at nature reserve
It is alleged that there was yet another attack at the Groenkloof nature reserve.
It is alleged that yet another violent robbery took place at Groenkloof nature reserve in Pretoria on Saturday.
A post has been making its rounds on the internet after a woman shared on Facebook that she and her mother were attacked at the reserve.
The woman, believed to be Taschia Slabbert, wrote on her Facebook account that she and her mother were attacked with knives.
Her post said that the robbers took her camera worth R33 000, phones, jewellery and car keys.
“They even took our shoes. Had to run barefoot to look for help. Feet are even blue,” she wrote.
She posted pictures of injuries sustained in the attack.
Rekord could not yet verify the report of attack with the relevant authorities.
Tshwane metro recently confirmed another attack on two women at the Groenkloof nature reserve.
The metro confirmed the attack reported on 23 April, when two women on a hike were mugged.
Spokesperson Selby Bokaba said metro staff were deployed immediately after receiving information of the attack.
Bokaba said security at the reserve was stepped up at the beginning of the year, but notices informing visitors to remain vigilant were recently placed.
“We have posted notices at the entrance of the reserve to inform people to stay vigilant at all the times and to call the emergency numbers if they see anything suspicious,” he said.
Bokaba said a meeting to discuss the problems at the reserve was scheduled for 10 May.
