Police operation nabs five
Law enforcement officials targeted Faerie Glen in a crime combating operation.
Law enforcement officials raided several areas in Garsfontein on Wednesday, in an operation to combat drug-related crimes.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Dave Miller said the aim of the operation was to increase police visibility and tackle drug-related crimes in the area.
“We had a significant breakthrough with several arrests in the Faerie Glen area,” he said.
A man was arrested for dealing in dagga, which was found in small ziplock bags and stashed inside empty cigarette boxes.
“Five foreign nationals without documentation, one also dealing in dagga, were arrested,” said Miller.
Miller said the success of the operation was attributed to the close working relationship with and dedication of the CPF, security companies and the police.
