Rhythm Kulcha Africa plays a vibrant mix of jazz, Afro pop and gospel to create a unique sound.
Sipho, the drummer said: “We grew up in musically talented families and went on to study music.”
The members agree that the love for music is what holds them together.
Due to the increasing demands by the fans, the band will soon release its first album, The journey Begins.
“Our aim is to challenge young people to rise up and use their talents and abilities in the right way,” said Sipho.
“Music can be a refuge for children in the community, instead of them engaging in drugs and crime,” said saxophonist Sithole.
The group organises its own events and performs at weddings, funerals, gala events and social gatherings for government departments. The band recently performed for the Gender Equality Commission and the department of human settlement.
