NEWSFLASH: Alleged robber killed in mob attack
A man, believed to be Mozambican, was killed in a mob justice attack on Monday.
A man has been killed in an alleged mob justice attack.
The man, who allegedly tried to rob a woman, was attacked at Mary Me informal settlement in Soshanguve on Monday morning, police said.
Constable Reneilwe Makwalo said police found the man’s body lying near a sports ground. He had injuries to his upper body.
“Locals caught the man after he tried to rob a woman and then allegedly beat him to death. Rocks, sticks and other weapons were found next to his body,” said Makwalo.
The identity of the man, who was in his 30s, was not known yet and no arrests have been made.
The victim is believed to be a Mozambican national.
Police called for anyone with information about the man’s killers to come forward.
