Video shows ‘midnight-shopping’ in Akasia

A video has gone viral on social media showing four men jumping over walls and looking for easy access to homes in Akasia.
The Intelligence Bureau SA posted the video captured on security cameras in Dias and Naboom streets.
“The past two evenings the video shows housebreakers doing some midnight shopping,” read the post on social media Tuesday.
Erich Landsberg of the Akasia community policing forum (CPF) said crime in this area was undoubtedly a problem.
“Although fewer break-ins have been reported at night, burglaries have escalated during the day when homeowners are at work,” Landsberg said.
The Intelligence Bureau SA asked residents to be on the lookout for the men in the video as they might be connected to more crimes in the area.
