Five caught after attempted mall-robbery
The would-be robbers were tracked down and arrested in Gezina after the attempted robbery at the Wonderpark Mall.

Five people were arrested Wednesday morning after an attempted robbery at Wonderpark Mall in the north of Pretoria.
The local CPF said the culprits used two vehicles to force open the entrance gates to the mall around 03:02.
They were trying to rob a jewellery store when a security guard spotted them.
The five men retreated to their cars and sped away. Members of the CPF joined the police in a search for the would-be robbers.
This culminated in a chase through several city streets. The fugitives gave police and CPF members the slip but were tracked down again about two hours later.
The five men were eventually arrested in Gezina.
Amandasig Action Group chairperson Tienie Vorster had high praise for all those who worked together to catch the culprits.
“A great word of thanks to our guys and the police including the guy from Maximum security for their quick action this morning at the Wonderpark attempted robbery,” he said on Facebook
“Nothing was stolen and the guys were arrested in Gezina. I am proud to be one of you.”
The police could not be reached for comment immediately.
