NEWSFLASH: Man killed in armed robbery
“Reports from the scene indicate that the man was shot during a robbery on the farm.”
A man was shot and killed during an armed robbery in the east of Pretoria on Wednesday morning.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said medics responded to a call after an 83-year-old man was shot on his farm in Boschkop near the R515 around 09:00.
Mathe said medics declared the man dead on arrival.
“Reports from the scene indicate that the man was shot during a robbery on the farm.”
She said the body was handed over to Boschkop police for investigation.
Mathe said the man’s wife was assaulted during the robbery and treated for minor injuries.
Police were still to confirm the murder and robbery at the time of publishing.
This attack follows the murder of a 63-year-old man who was also shot during an armed robbery in Laezonia, west of Centurion, at the weekend.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the man was found in a pool of blood outside his residence in Boundary Street.
Police launched a manhunt for four men linked to the murder of the 63-year-old man.
