Police on the hunt for ATM bombers

Police said they were looking for nine armed suspects.

Police are on the hunt for the robbers who bombed an ATM in Centurion on Saturday morning.

Police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said the police were looking for approximately nine suspects, all armed with rifles.

“The Standard Bank ATM was bombed at the Wierda Park shopping centre on the corner of Springbok and Willem Botha streets at03:00 on Saturday.”

Huma said an unknown amount of cash was taken from the ATM outside the centre.

“The suspects were driving a white BMW X5 and a dark coloured VW Golf GTI.”

She said no one was injured in the incident.

Orange Fox Security spokesperson Marcé Bester said Copwatch, Monitornet and the Wierdabrug Sector 3 CPF were on the scene.
