Cyclist killed on N4

Debris was found spread over an area of 500 metres.

A cyclist was killed on the N4 north of Pretoria this evening.

Emergency services responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a cyclist around 19:15.

“The cyclist was hit by a vehicle on the N4 between Hartbeespoort and the Kwagga toll plaza,” said

Xander Loubser, spokesperson for Best Care ambulance services.

“Pieces of the cyclist’s body were found spread over an area of 500 metres.”

The driver of the involved vehicle was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

The cause of the accident will remain part of a police investigation.
