House robbery man may be armed and dangerous.
Mamelodi East police are looking for a man in connection with a house robbery.
The man in the picture is believed to be aged between 25 and 30.
Police spokesperson Captain Michael Mbewe said the man and his accomplice allegedly came to the complainant’s house at around 21:00 on 20 August in Mamelodi East and knocked on the door.
“It is alleged the duo pretended to be looking for help and immediately held the whole family at gunpoint and took them to another room,” said Mbewe.
“Then the suspects started searching the house and later fled with the family car,” said Mebwe.
Mbewe warned people to be cautious at night and not open doors to anyone. Instead people should ask who was knocking and what the person wanted to avoid becoming a victim.
Mbewe advised residents against trying to catch the man if he was seen, urging instead that they notify the police.
“The man may be armed and dangerous,” said Mbewe. The police can be reached on 08600-10111.
