Willowridge high school achieved an impressive 99,53 percent 2016 matric pass rate.
Savannah Canto was the school’s top learner.
She achieved a 95 percent average and eight distinctions, all above 90 percent.
She received distinctions for Afrikaans, English, maths, physical science, life orientation, life sciences, geography and advanced programmes maths.
This year Canto will be starting her studies in chemical engineering at the University of Pretoria.
In second place was Motlotleng Ledingwane, who achieved an 85 percent average and six distinctions – two subjects were above 90 percent and four subjects were above 80 percent.
She achieved distinctions for Afrikaans, maths, physical science, life orientation, information technology and business studies.
Ledingwane will be studying medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand this year.
Jordan Smith was the third top matriculant at Willowridge.
Smith achieved an 85 percent average with six distinctions all above 80 percent.
She received distinctions in English, Afrikaans, maths, life orientation, economics and history.
Smith will be studying BSc biological science at the University of Pretoria this year.
