Making friends at Southdowns College

Prep-pals is a unique initiative at Southdowns College.

Prep-pals is an unique project that aims to create friendship groups across the grades at Southdowns College Preparatory.

The whole school is divided into groups of six or seven children across the grades, with the grade 6 learner being in charge.

The aim is to foster friendship between these children within the group and to emphasise that they are part of the greater Southdowns family.

Various topics or themes are covered (cultural day, literacy week, water day, and more).

Through this, communication skills are developed and leadership skills improved.
