Learner reaches great heights during adventure

On her trip, Meiring encountered people from across the world as many countries sent scouts to participate in the hike.

A grade 10 Tyger Valley College learner had an unforgettable experience hiking the Cederberg mountains recently.

Lee Meiring undertook the journey with her patrol of scouts from Johannesburg from 10 to 22 December.

This adventurous group of 10 hiked around the Cederberg wilderness area where they came to the summit of Tafelberg and Sneeuberg mountains.

Sleeping on top of a ledge just below the summit of Sneeuberg was definitely an unforgettable experience for Meiring.

On her trip, Meiring encountered people from across the world as many countries sent scouts to participate in the hike.

Meiring participated in activities including: abseiling, rock climbing, scuba diving, parasailing, cliff jumping, sleeping in caves as well as sleeping under Wolfberg arch.

“This trip was absolutely amazing and I have made memories I will keep forever,” said Meiring.
