Two men get almost 50 years for robbery, break-ins

Two men were recently sentenced to 27 and 20 years imprisonment at the Pretoria Magistrate’s court.

According to Wonderboompoort police spokesperson Mandla Zwane, Petrus Munyai (36) and Thabang Moses Kaise (37) were convicted on house robbery and house break-in charges.
“The two were arrested by the Wonderboompoort police on 12 November 2015 in Roseville, Pretoria,” Zwane said.
“They were charged on two Wonderboompoort cases after they were positively linked to another by the victim.”
According to Zwane, the investigator got a breakthrough when the men’s finger prints were linked by the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) to a number of other house break-in and robbery cases at other police stations.

The following is a breakdown of sentences:
Petrus Munyai:
– Four years for the Wonderboompoort crime
– Seven years for the Heidelberg crime
– Seven years for the Tlhabane crime
– Five years for the Wierdabrug crime
Four years were suspended for 5 years.
Thabang Moses Kaise:
– Four years for the Wonderboompoort crime
– Seven years for the Lyttelton crime
– Five years for the Garsfontein crime
Four years were suspended for 5 years.
“The Wonderboompoort station commander is elated with the efforts undertaken by her members in partnership with the community in making sure that the rule of law is upheld at all times and that all perpetrators are brought to book,” Zwane said.
