Behardien wants back into Proteas squad
The 34-year-old won big at the Titans award ceremony.
Multiply Titans superstar Ferhaan Behardien is eager to get back into the Proteas squad in July ahead of their tour to Sri Lanka.
The 34-year-old Pretoria batsman has struggled to break into the Proteas starting eleven despite his recent impressive form for his franchise team featuring in one of the six ODIs against India earlier this year.
Only a few have had a better domestic season than Behardien which saw him clean up at the Titans awards ceremony.
“When I did get the time to reflect, I did realise that I had a pretty good season. We have had a month or so to put our feet up and get away from the game and spend some time with family and reflect,” he told the Titans website.
Behardien has only a few months to solidify his place in the Proteas team ahead of next year’s Cricket World Cup.
“The key for me is to keep performing for the Titans because that is always the focus. I would obviously love to get back into Proteas squad, and it will be a massive season of six-seven months domestically,” he said.
“I would love to continue my T20 form into next season, and also build on my 50-over form. I want to put myself in the best position to be ready if I get the call-up for any of the winter tours.”
