VIDEO: Huge reward for Hammanskraal cash-in-transit robbers

A private security firm is offering a R100 000 reward for info on an armed robbery earlier this week.

SBV Services is offering a R100 000 cash reward for any for information that would lead to the successful arrest and prosecution of the men involved in a cash-in-transit robbery in Hammanskraal earlier this week.

The robbery took place at a liquor store in the Ramotsi section on Monday.

According to SBV, an unknown number of perpetrators confronted a four-man team while delivering cash.

“An undisclosed amount of cash was taken by the perpetrators. SBV’s risk and
compliance team is working closely with the SAPS to apprehend the suspects. Details of the robbery cannot be disclosed as an investigation is underway.”

Police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said no-one was injured in the incident.

This latest cash-in-transit robbery comes as a nation-wide police clampdown resulted in the arrest of more than 30 heist suspects, with firearms and cash being recovered.

“These types of crimes dropped significantly,” Naidoo said.

“However, it is still very concerning that these robberies are persisting.”

Naidoo said investigations are underway.

Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee posted a video of the robbery online.

SBV appealed to anyone with info on this robbery or any other cash-in-transit crime to notify the authorities immediately.

“The SBV’s early warning robbery hotline is active 24/7 and members of the public may contact 083-408-7029 to provide information. All callers can be assured that confidentiality is maintained.”
