Erasmia police working with community to tackle crime

Residents from Erasmia, Gerhardsville, Laezonia and Doornrandjies formed part of operations.

With the festive season fast approaching, Erasmia police have joined hands with the community to tackle crime.

Residents from Erasmia, Gerhardsville, Laezonia and Doornrandjies formed part of operations last Friday which also included the Tshwane metro police, said Erasmia police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.

“Crime hotspots were visited and crime tips pamphlets were distributed all over the community. We also maintained high visibility on business centres and on the M26 and R55 roads.”

Moloto said it was important for residents to be vigilant at all times at their homes to avoid being victims of house robberies

During the visits, five people were arrested for selling liquor without a licence, he said.
