The 55-year-old teacher accused of sexually assaulting at least 23 learners at the Valhalla Primary School will appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court again today.
The teacher, who was detained last week after he handed himself over to police, is expected to apply for bail.
On Friday, he appeared briefly in court and the case was postponed.
During his appearance, he told the court he had no prior convictions or pending cases against him.
The NPA confirmed there were seven counts of sexual assault against the teacher but could not rule out more at this stage.

The male teacher was suspended as a “precautionary” measure after the Gauteng department of education started an investigation into the sexual assault claims against him last week.
Department spokesperson Steve Mabona said a team of district officials as well as the psycho-social unit, were dispatched to the school to investigate.
Mabona has since urged parents to allow police and other law enforcement agencies to investigate the case.
“Parents must desist from coaching their kids and our officials must also be careful of what they say to the learners,” he said.
Mabona explained that previous cases had been lost due to “contamination” whereby law enforcement agencies were not given the space needed to do their work.
He said the department would continue to counsel the learners.
