A man shot during an armed robbery on a smallholding in Onderstepoort is recovering at home.
Lieb van Jaarsveld and his wife, Mavis, were injured last week when they were attacked by three men in their home.
Van Jaarsveld was shot in the lower body while Mavis was stabbed in the arm.
A friend of the couple, Freek Pienaar, said it was not going too well with Van Jaarsveld.

“Lieb’s leg looks pretty bad,” he said.
“He was shot in the knee and the bullet got stuck in his upper leg.”
Pienaar said Mavis was lucky to have escaped the ordeal alive.
“She said one of the attackers wanted to stab her in the neck. She just managed to block with her arm.”
The couple were overwhelmed by the robbers in their bedroom, while their three-year-old child was sleeping in another.
The robbers looted the house and also stole the family vehicle – which was later found abandoned in Soshanguve.

“They (couple) went through so much trauma, and the treatment Lieb got in hospital was not up to standard,” said Pienaar.
No arrests have been made yet.
Police said they were still investigating.
